When are you available?

We open for the season on August 1st.

Installations for both Halloween and early bird Christmas clients begin in late September.
Installations are completed Mon-Sat 7am-5pm.

Removals begin on January 2nd and all removals are guaranteed to be completed before Jan 25th.

We close for the season at the end of January and re-open again the following August.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, you are fully protected when choosing Happy Santa Holiday Lights. We are licensed and insured including both general liability insurance and workers compensation insurance.

What is your pricing?

Accepted Answer

All our quotes are personalized and based on individual preferences; therefore, pricing can vary significantly. However, our minimum for a new installation is $795 and the average cost for a new installation is $1,300.

We do offer an early bird discount and a reinstallation discount for returning clients.

All clients receive a 3-year price lock guarantee!

Do you offer any discounts?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we offer a 10% early bird discount for installations completed by October 31st, 2025. Returning clients receive a 15% reinstallation discount starting from their second season. Combine both for a total of 25% off!

Can you install lights that I already own?

Accepted Answer

No, we offer an all-inclusive rental service covering design, installation, maintenance, removal, and storage of our equipment.

Do I need to buy and own the lights?

Accepted Answer

No, our service is rental-based. You don't need to purchase any equipment. If you were to buy lights elsewhere, you would eventually need to replace them and handle seasonal repairs. 
Our rental service also allows you to change bulb colors seasonally.

Do you offer permanent lights?

Accepted Answer

No, we specialize in traditional holiday lighting using the brightest commercial grade C9 bulbs available.

Although, our lights are temporary, they offer a classic, festive vibe delivering a vibrant and timeless look that bead lights (used on permanent lights) simply can not replicate.

What colors can I choose from?

Accepted Answer

Any color or combination of colors you desire. The most popular color is Warm White, which represents the majority of our installs and is widely considered the most elegant color.

How should I prepare for my installation?

Accepted Answer

If you have eve outlets please make sure the switch that controls those outlets is on.

Please ensure that we have access to all parts of your property exterior by unlocking side gates and all electric power is functioning properly.

Please trim up your trees! Clean trees will hold and show more lights, creating a better display. If any tree branches are close to the roofline and can touch the roofline lights, those branches can knock down the lights when windy and should be trimmed back.

Are the lights on a timer?

Yes, we use photocell timers. The lights will automatically turn on at sunset and will turn off after 4 to 8 hours. Just let our technicians know your preference on when the lights should turn off.

How does the removal work?

Accepted Answer

The removal process begins on January 2nd, 2024, and is fully automated. 
We organize the removals by zip codes. You will receive a notification a few days before the removals in your area. Typically, there is no need for anyone to be home during the removal process.

Question 13

Any HOA concerns with an October installation?

Accepted Answer

We have never had a client receive and HOA letter because of an October install and the lights do not need to be turned on until you are ready. Moreover, you are still within 30 days of other holidays like Halloween, Diwali, and Thanksgiving. October installs are never an issue.

What about my HOA rules for removal?

Accepted Answer

We understand that most HOA’s threaten to fine homeowners if holiday lights are left up for too long.

Happy Santa ensures timely removal of all equipment and guarantees that all removals will be completed before Jan 25th, 2024. Last season, we completed our final removals on Jan 16th, 2023.

Do I need to store the lights?

No, as a rental service we take care of everything, we will remove and store all equipment.

What should I expect next season?

Accepted Answer

We open for the season in August. Once we open, we will contact you to schedule your re-installation. We will send both emails and text messages. Our priority is to schedule all existing clients before taking on new clients.

Once you receive our open for the season notifications, please contact us asap to schedule your installation as the best dates will fill up quickly.

What about maintenance? I live in a very windy area:

Maintenance calls for any reason are included in our service and are completed within 24 hours.

Our roofline lights are equipped with magnets that can withstand winds up to 70 miles per hour. While rare, if the lights come down, it’s often from a tree branch hitting into them. If you have any branches touching the roofline, please trim those branches before install.

What types of Christmas lights do you install?

We install SMD LED C9 size bulbs for rooflines and 5mm wide-angle mini lights for landscaping and trees. Both types of lights are available in a variety of colors.
Please note, we do not offer Icicle lights or permanent roof lights..

What is an SMD bulb?

Accepted Answer

SMD LED Christmas light bulbs are different from standard LED bulbs as they contain three filaments instead of one. This design lights up the entire bulb, not just the tip, providing ultra-bright and beautiful illumination. These are the best and brightest commercial-grade bulbs available, far superior to standard lights.
